Project Engineer/Sales
John has always known that he wanted to be in the renewable energy or recycling field. Either one would be fine as long as it was saving the world. He graduated from the real University of Michigan (i.e. Michigan State University) in 1993 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry minor. After a long career in teaching high school Biology for approximately two weeks, he decided to move to Denver since it snows there during every home Bronco game.
After a few years as a professional ski bum, he worked in radiochemical laboratories at Rocky Flats until he left to attend graduate school at the Colorado School of Mines. Graduating in 2000 with a degree in Environmental Engineering, he continued to save the world one hazardous waste cleanup site at a time until he liberated himself from the corporate world of environmental consulting. After six years of defining the conclusion and then creating the data to support that conclusion, John joined Bella Energy in July 2005 as sales representative with some engineering support.
Colorado Connections: John is an active member and volunteer of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES), the Colorado Energy Science Center (CESC), the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (CoSEIA) and the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). John recently became NABCEP certified. John has lived in Colorado since 1993.
