Solar Technician
Andy Blakeslee grew up on ranches in Lake Tahoe and Steamboat Springs, where he learned how to enjoy hard work in the outdoors and his beautiful surroundings helped developed in him a strong environmental awareness. Since his parents started working for the Nature Conservancy in 1996, Andy was exposed to the positive impacts of a successful environmental organization, which influenced him to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After obtaining his degree in 2005, Andy worked in various industries before finding his true calling in construction. Andy grew from a laborer into a superintendent position for an environmentally conscious developer, where he managed multi-million dollar condo conversion projects before he came to Bella in 2008. Working as a solar installer, Andy enjoys using his skills to fuel his passion for craftsmanship and make a tangible environmental impact through developing solar energy.
Colorado Connections: Andy moved to Steamboat Springs in 1996, where he resided on a 900 acre ranch owned by the Nature Conservancy. Andy attended the Lowell Whiteman School, a private high school that focuses on experiential education and competitive skiing. The small resort town of Steamboat fostered Andy’s passion for skiing, kayaking, mountain biking, and various other outdoor sports, which he enthusiastically pursued through his college years in Boulder and today as he calls Denver home. Andy lives with his wife Melissa, a native of Costa Rica, CU grad, and environmental engineer.
