Jim Welch, Chief Executive Officer

Jim Welch is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Bella Energy. A leader in the renewable energy industry for 30 years, Welch was recognized by the US Department of Energy and honored with the Green Pioneer Award in 2004 for his efforts to bring wind power to Colorado and to the City of Fort Collins. Welch holds a Masters degree in Environmental Planning & Solar Design from Arizona State University. In 1982, Welch founded Remote Power Inc. which under his vision and direction has evolved into one of the leading solar contractors in the Rocky Mountain region. Welch served also for two years as President of the Board of CoSEIA, the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (2008 – 2009).

Andrew McKenna, Senior Vice President
Andrew McKenna is Senior Vice President where he is responsible for large-scale commercial sales, project management and reducing the installed cost of solar through adherence to standardization, value engineering and supply chain development. McKenna’s roots in solar and renewable energy date back to 1984. His career includes working as the Director of Weatherization Assistance Program for the City of New York, installing solar thermal systems in the US Virgin Islands and operating an aviation company. He graduated with a BA in Environmental Engineering from Wesleyan University and holds certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA). McKenna is a licensed commercial pilot and a member of the Explorer’s Club.

Lonna Borden, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Bella Energy in January 2009, Lonna served as CFO for IZZE Beverage Company post the Company’s acquisition by PepsiCO in November of 2006 through November of 2008. Prior to that role, Lonna served as the Company’s Controller from 2005 to November of 2006. Prior to IZZE, Lonna served in financial management positions at First Data Corporation and Qwest Communications. She began her career in public accounting working with KPMG’s Denver office. Lonna is a graduate of CSU, and received her MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver. Lonna is a licensed CPA in Colorado.

Jeff Altman, Vice President of Sales
Jeff Altman, joined Bella Energy in late 2009. Prior to becoming the Vice President of Sales, Jeff served as a global, executive-level sales manager for variety of hardware, software, and services companies focused on North and South America. He has a successful track record helping companies grow revenue through strong sales management, integrated marketing programs, and improved operational efficiency. Jeff also holds an MBA from University of Denver and engineering degrees from the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Colorado.

Dave Gomez, Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Dave has overseen the design and installation of over 450 solar energy installations. Having worked as a member of the Bella Energy installation team, Dave has immense hands on knowledge of PV installation and best practices for successful integration. Dave is also NABCEP certified, National American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, which is the highest certification for Solar Electric industry professionals.
