Kim Derhammer
Kimberlee Derhammer hails from Grand Haven, Michigan, where she grew up the second oldest of five children. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2001 with a B.S. in Retailing and Consumer Sciences and a Business Minor. After college, Kimberlee spent three years with AmeriCorps teaching and doing construction with Notre Dame Mission Volunteers and Habitat for Humanity, respectively. After her time of service allowed her to live in various parts of the U.S., Kimberlee decided to move to Colorado to pursue a career in renewable energy. She landed herself in beautiful Carbondale, Colorado, where she spent a year and a half interning, taking classes and eventually working for Solar Energy International (SEI). In the fall of 2007, Kimberlee moved to Boulder, Colorado to attend Naropa University where she is mid-way through completing an M.A. in Environmental Leadership. Kimberlee joined Bella Energy in the summer of 2008 and is excited to be working in the heart and soul of the solar energy world.
Colorado Connections: Kimberlee moved to Colorado in January of 2007 with a strong desire to become a part of the solar energy industry. She is not the first in her family to call the beautiful state of Colorado home, as two of her three sisters lived here before her, though have since moved on. Kimberlee knows that she will always call the West her home and feels at peace under the wide blue Colorado sky. She enjoys spending time in nature, camping, backpacking, running, gardening, and doing pottery.
