Ken Olson

Ken Olson
Ken is a LEED Accredited Professional with US Green Building Council, and a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Certified Photovoltaic (PV) Installer. He holds a Master of Environmental Planning in Solar Architecture and a Bachelor of Building Science. Ken is a credentialed Vocational Industrial Trainer in solar energy and was a professor and industrial trainer at Colorado Mountain College for 10 years. As a consultant to the World Health Organization, he developed technical and field training, and regularly helped with technical support and program planning. He has designed and installed several hundred PV and solar thermal energy systems worldwide since 1975. Ken provides professional consulting services on photovoltaic and solar thermal energy systems, including renewable energy analysis, specification and installation contracting. He also provides professional development and training seminars on photovoltaic systems design and installation.
Colorado Connections: Ken moved to Colorado after college and a stint in the military, in the early 1970s. Ken has raised his family of three children in the Roaring Fork Valley. Ken co-founded the Solar Energy International, located in Carbondale, Colorado. SEI is the premiere solar training institute in the country. Many Bella-ites have taken classes with Ken at SEI. Ken has been active on many community boards involving education and sustainability in his community. Ken is fluent in Spanish, and has lived and worked in Mexico over the last decade. Ken resides in Carbondale.
